The best news for us is that we were able to secure a new location as of August 1 where we are able to bring all of our services under one roof, and let go of both of our other locations. We are now located on Washington Ave. in Golden in a studio that was vacated by Kindness Yoga. They closed all 9 of their locations during COVID. The landlords have been generous working out an agreement that takes into account the current economic effects of the pandemic. This move is the best thing that could have happened to us.
The biggest changes have been in trying to be contact free. We require pre-registration to all of our classes, we avoid payment at the time of service, we are in the process of going toward electronic medical records, and we implemented temperature checks and cleaning procedures, etc.At this point, we have a lot of virtual yoga and Tai Chi options as well as very small indoor classes that are live streamed for people in their homes. We also have yoga in the park as long as weather holds for us. These classes have been very well attended.
So many people are seeking anxiety and stress relief. We are now able to see acupuncture, chiropractic, lifestyle coaching, and massage appointments and a big focus for us is improving mental health! Thankfully we have extensive training and experience with treating mental health and helping people reduce stress. Greg and Kimball are both trained in Chinese Medicine and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. We are currently offering a Mindfulness class for stress reduction and anxiety relief because we are genuinely concerned about the mental health of our community. The pandemic restrictions have really affected people. The isolation is worse than the virus itself in some ways. That plus the anxiety of not knowing what is next, having to adapt, the political environment, etc. are really taking their toll on people. Even the masks have an effect of increasing stress and anxiety for many people. Not to mention, community, friendships, and connections are vital to positive mental health. The classes we offer allow a safe place to continue to connect with each other while encouraging self-care and reduced anxiety. Our lifestyle coaching, treatments, and classes largely revolve around techniques for anxiety relief and stress reduction. In addition to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, we get great results using mindfulness, yoga, hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, and cognitive therapy to help people with their stress and anxiety. Seriously, anxiety is through the roof. We’ve never seen anything like it. It’s so devastating. I wish more people were talking about it and seeking help. We’re here to help. Mental health is equally as important as physical health.
